About Honey Meadow Retreat

Set in four acres of mature grounds in beautiful North Devon, Honey Meadow Retreat is a truly unique, bespoke venue. The site is exclusively yours for 1, 2 or 3 days, suiting couples looking for a relaxed and flexible wedding venue. There’s plenty to do for all ages, with the tennis court, croquet and trampoline being just a few examples.

We have five beautiful glamping sites, each one in its own meadow – the shepherds hut, the geodome, the safari lodge, gypsy caravan and lotus belle tent. With woodfired baths, fire pits, barbecues, logs and charcoal, wood fired ovens, etc all included… great for getting back to nature. We have dark sky status and even provide a telescope for your use to view the stars.

We also have a courtyard of cottages, a wedding barn and “the tipsy horse box bar” and barrel bar.

You can get married in our wedding arbour with a backdrop of far-reaching views showcasing the beautiful Devon countryside, or in the gypsy caravan enclosure by the 300-year-old oak tree, plus many more options in the grounds, all with amazing photo opportunities.

Honey Meadow Retreat is perfect for weddings of all sizes (elopement to maxi), with so many styling options to make your wedding truly unique to you! John grows all of the flowers and they are there for your use, or just ask him and he will grow something special for your day.

Pets are very welcome and there’s no curfew. The venue sleeps up to 50 people with extra camping an option.

Over the Moon

Our wedding at Honey Meadow Retreat was everything we could have dreamed of and more. The hosts pulled out all the stops and went above and beyond to give us everything we asked for, and were full of ideas for what we could do. The food was beautifully prepared using local farmers and providers. Dietary requirements were all met without any problems. The reception by the oak tree was magic. Everything was perfectly organized and timed. The location was absolutely perfect, and being surrounded by its own holiday cottages and glamping meant many of our guests could stay on site. We really couldn’t have asked for anything more and would recommend Honey Meadow as a wedding venue to everyone!

PERFECT FOR AN INTIMATE COUNTRY WEDDING
We recently got married at Honey Meadow Retreat. Firstly Harriet and John are the most amazing people and from our first visit they made us feel comfortable and welcome. The cottage and grounds are simply beautiful. We didn’t want a traditional wedding reception and Harriet and her team worked tirelessly to make our day really special. Harriet was our private chef for the weekend, she not only provided hearty Devonshire breakfast before the wedding, but also provided a 3 course wedding breakfast(making allowances for dietary requirements) and also made us an amazing bbq hamper for the day after the wedding. Now to say the food was outstanding was an understatement! The accommodation was great and very spacious for all our guests. Planning a wedding can be very stressful but honestly Harriet was fantastic, nothing was a problem – even our odd requests like playing croquet on the lawn after our wedding breakfast. The wedding planning at Honey Meadow Retreat was so easy and such an enjoyable experience. My husband and I had the best day of our lives and everyone of our guests loved everything about our wedding.We absolutely loved Honey Meadow Retreat and will be returning to this place for mini breaks for years to come. Thank you so much for making our day so vey special and one we will remember for the rest of our lives. For any brides and grooms searching for a wedding venue, we could not recommend Honey Meadow Retreat enough. Claire & Dave xx
