About Marshwood Manor
The woodland bower at Marshwood Manor might just be the most magical place to be married in the entire country. When the village church was rebuilt in 1874 its porch was saved by the then owner of the Manor. After 140 years, it is the centrepiece of our bower and once again witnessing the joining of hands and hearts. Couples can cross the stream on a living bridge and walk through ancient woodland to say their vows in a mystical amphitheatre with family and friends seated on great benches created from the trees themselves.
We are always an ‘exclusive use’ venue. For the entire time you are with us, you and your guests will have total privacy, with luxury accommodation for the happy couple. You may choose to be with us for just the wedding day itself, or to make a weekend of it and and have the run of the venue from noon on Friday to noon on Sunday – plenty of time for suppliers and guests alike with no rushing. A limited number of weddings each year ensures each couple has all our attention and focus, for the weekend itself and in the days leading up.
We balance the timeless elegance found in Marshwood Manor’s buildings and landscaping with the relaxed and welcoming ambiance supplied by the natural world at the heart of the estate. Added to that there is a last ingredient… magic. You can feel it when you sit in the bower, when you walk the woodland paths, when you drag your hand through the grass of the meadow, or watch the sun set over the vale.
