About The Old Milking Parlour

Our romantic, rustic venue offers a beautiful old farm milking parlour with private woodland, all set in 12 acres of the Blackmore Vale on the border of Somerset and Dorset. Our grounds include paddocks, a stream, a magic door and 5 acres of woods, with the south-facing lawn offering plenty of space for the erection of a marquee.

Wedding ceremonies may take place in a romantic sun dappled woodland glade, on the lawn with stunning country views over the Blackmore Vale, or in The Old Milking Parlour building itself. We are licensed for indoor and outdoor legal civil ceremonies. Also available are celebrant-led, legal ceremony-only and elopement weddings.

Weddings here are secluded, private and exclusive-use, lasting for three days as standard. We will always be on hand to help and advise with your wedding planning, helping you to formulate a plan for your day. On your wedding day, we will be working away in the background to ensure that everything runs smoothly – so that you can have fun and enjoy your happiest day without having to worry about the logistics of running a wedding.

We offer a large hard-standing car park for guests and can accommodate 100 daytime guests, plus 20 more in the evening. Tables, chairs, tablecloths, disco, on-the-day coordination and a huge store of wedding styling props are all included in the price. So you can relax, celebrate and – most of all – have fun!
