Higher Holcombe in beautiful Ottery St Mary, Devon, is a unique and quirky, family-run wedding venue for a wedding everyone will love.
This is a venue where very special wedding memories will be made.
Very possibly the only venue in Devon (and possibly the country) to offer a hill-top willow ‘cathedral’ surrounded by gorgeous countryside views.
This specially planted outdoor ceremony feature is at the end of a meandering willow walkway aisle and is a memorable place for your guests to assemble and await your ceremony. In a curve of beautiful trees, it is also a unique place for a relaxed drinks reception, picnic lunch or afternoon tea.
Another option for your outdoor ceremony is the secluded and wooded silver birch ‘church’. The trees are like the pillars of a church building – and this space has a dappled, rather secretive feel to it; a charming place to host your ceremony.
In addition, there’s an elegantly renovated milking parlour barn with great facilities and plenty of space for your wedding party. With south-facing meadow views, there’s a great spot for the chill-out fire pit with African masks and benches to take the weight off your dancing feet. If the weather’s wet, your ceremony can take place in the meadow under the stretch tent canvas – surrounded by nature – still outdoors – and still very special.
There’s room for 10 in the modern, funky farmhouse, with space for 22 more to glamp (from spring to early autumn) in the spacious luxury Lotus Belle tents. There is also a romantic seclusion for the Bride and Groom in the quirky ‘Hobbit House’ honeymoon suite. Everything is furnished in a global style with gorgeous textiles from around the world. There’s plenty of room for the whole gang!
