Whimsical Boho Wedding Shoot at Lakehouse Kent

My advice to all my couples is, ‘when the opportunity arises for you to inject your personality and whimsy into your big day, jump at it!’ (You’ll see why that’s funny in a minute!)

We styled a wedding shoot for a beautiful real couple who needed a little bit of pampering after having some health complications, so we were so happy to give them this opportunity and an album of beautiful photos as a memory!

Lakehouse Kent in Ashford is a wonderful venue and its stunning backdrop made this whole day possible. When you first enter Lakehouse Kent you are overcome with an instant sense of calm. The grounds are breathtaking and the lake is perfect for all those beautiful wedding shots. They have a strong belief in inclusive and sustainable weddings that are full of personality and joy. It’s a no-brainer for an intimate, love centred wedding!

This whole shoot was captured by none other than NNastia Photography, a photographer who will go to any length to get the perfect shot which was proven by the whole beautiful album and the gorgeous boat shots!

The shoot started with an outdoor ceremony that included a Jumping the Broom ceremony (see what I did earlier!?), a crystal circle ceremony, sage burning and a handfasting ceremony. It was a spiritual dream wedding that encompassed their beliefs, personalities and ethos. Huge thanks to Alex Hilder Celebrant for bringing these spiritual wedding rituals to life. Gorgeous rings that were handmade with copper and a guitar string were provided by Pinelodge Handmade Crafts.

The boho décor was provided by myself, Mercedes from 4YaParty Weddings & Events and was based on a sustainable ethos. Handmade props from reclaimed wood, such as the wooden arch framed the beautiful lakeside ceremony. At 4YaParty we are committed to no single use décor and no floral foam too! Décor and props such as the candlestick holders, assorted rug aisle and the pampas demi johns were sourced second hand from charity shops, antique stores and car boot sales.

Our couple provided their own outfits to keep in line with our sustainable focus for the shoot. However, this did include gorgeous accessories such as a gorgeous and wild bouquet with matching boutonnière and floral crown by The Bear Florist Kent. A regal gold handmade crown by Sanit Beth Official and Fairy Wings by Just As Strange As I Am to add to the whimsy for this magical shoot. The stunning ceremony makeup was created by Daniella Smith MUA and then transformed into the fairy goddess makeup after. The beautiful boho curls was by our model and hair stylist Beautifully Finished.

After the ceremony the couple were led into the reception room which was also decorated and styled by Mercedes from 4YaParty Weddings & Events, keeping with the sustainable ethos of the shoot no single-use was used here either. The centrepieces were a mixture of accumulated brown bottles and bud vases. Even opting for the stunning cookie favours to be placed on the tables at the very last minute to avoid those individual plastic wrappers! The Backdrop was a gorgeous mix of pure foliage and pampas and the boho colour scheme ran through the fabrics and textures of the tablescape.

Our Cake and cookie favours were created by the very talented Wedding Cakes by the Sea and the handmade macrame on the cake tied in with the macrame chair backs for our happy couple, the macrame from the ceremony arch and the gorgeous macrame Welcome display that showcased the stunning designs of Hawthorne & Ivory stationery.
