Highden Estate is set in the beautiful South Downs National Park and covers nearly 1000 acres of historic woodland and rolling fields. The Denman family proudly own the estate and have successfully managed its land for over 80 years.
The Estate is home to an impressive walled garden, fields and a forest school, offering a beautiful backdrop for any wedding or special occasion. The Highden Walled Garden was built in the Victorian era and has been well maintained since.
Stepping through the door into the secret garden you’re transported into serenity, with the high walls providing a private and secure venue.
Within the acre of space, a beautiful apple and pear archway runs up the middle over a pebble pathway, with vines growing various berries and flowers including the climbing Lady Silvia Rose which was planted by the Denmans in the early 1900s.
The field offers a 20 acre picturesque blank canvas. Views across an unblemished landscape ensure total privacy and seclusion, whilst offering you the best sights from the top of the South Downs National Park. It’s the perfect venue to dance amongst the stars. The Forest School, maintained by Garden Cottage Nursery, has a truly magical feel and has also become an ideal venue for weddings and parties.
Each venue at Highden offers something a little different, meaning you will be able to select a location that best reflects the theme of your event. The venue also offers a range of accommodation options for your special day, including camping, bell tents and an Airbnb.
